In our drive to provide the best dental care and utilize the latest of cutting edge dental technology we have installed A Kodak 9000 3D dental cat scan.  This new diagnostic tool not only provides some of the finest panoramic radiographs in the business it also provides the three dimensional  views needed for implant dentistry that was once limited to hospital based units.   Prior to acquiring this unit dental implant patients would be required to get a CT scan at a hospital or imaging center.  That is history and can take place in minutes right in our office.  The cost and time savings to the patient are tremendous.  The diagnostic information provided to the doctor is invaluable in dental implant treatment.   The images are anatomically accurate three dimensional views, achieved with limited low dose radiation exposure as the format is digital. This can be 10-30 times less exposure than some competing systems.  This new technology will improve treatment outcomes for dental implant patients, third molar extractions and even root canal patients.  The three dimensional reconstruction provides reassuring and exact 1:1 scale.  This "true to life" view of dental structures unquestionably facilitates better treatment outcomes.  The software enables us to simulate exact implant placement prior to surgery.  This coupled with our in house dental laboratory for the fabrication of surgical guides provides the patient and doctor with a true computer guided dental implant surgery.
